Islands in China - Steps to the Bed of God Book Two has won THREE first-place awards in the most extensive English writing competitions known. This is the FIRST TIME that three awards have gone to the same publication/author in the eleven years these have been run,  sponsored by the David St John Thomas Charitable Trust.

The first is the Self Publishing Award non-fiction.

The second is the Self Published BOOK OF THE YEAR.

The third is the GRAND AWARD for the most notable of all the over 40 awards.
This new award was planned to be introduced next year, but the judges so
admired Islands in China that it was brought forward.

The judges for the annual awards include editorial staff from Writing Magazine
and/or Writers' News. Richard Bell of Writing Magazine said that the judges were
"really impressed". They also took into consideration Book One, published earlier.

About a hundred people, including representatives of the publishing world and the Arts Council, attended the awards ceremony on 1st April in Harrogate, England.

Book Two was chosen as one of four FINALISTs for another award! This was for the best REPRO AWARD in a Book 2004, sponsored by Printing World. This is awarded for the most striking reproduction of photographs. The ceremonies and announcement of winners were on 1st July at London’s highly esteemed venue, the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane. About 1,200 people attended.
